First Project

Now I've already mentioned that I have unorthodox ways of writing. I typically do not like writing outlines because I feel they confine me. Besides, I already have the full story already thought out in full before I put pen to paper. When I do write it out, the sensation I get is like dictation and the first draft flows quickly.

A few weeks ago, I picked a project to work on. It's a suspense novel. I also did something I don't like to typically do. I wrote an outline for it. Twenty chapters in all.

It's the biggest enemy of many writers, and it comes in many forms. It's most commonly known as Writer's Block, but unlike constipation, there is no medical cure like a suppository. So, in order to get over my bout with it, I thought writing a blog would help me overcome it. I'm hoping that typing here will kick my butt into gear and get me typing on a project. Any project.

About last year, I was getting so frustrated with all these project ideas I had clogged in my head waiting to get out and onto paper. So at that point, I took multicolored 3 x 5 index cards and at least wrote the titles of the projects I had in mind down. Yes, I already know the titles of my yet unwritten pieces. I also know the details of each project well enough that the title alone will trigger my memory. I wound up with nearly 300 project titles stuck in my head. That's nearly 300 books, scripts, plays, and poems. Even a few ideas for Ballet and Opera.

As the title of my blog states, I'm not your typical writer. I have an unorthodox way of writing which I will share in this blog. It works for me. I don't recommend it for everyone. So here goes everything.
